Em 1884, os senhores Major Jo\u00e3o Pinto de Ara\u00fajo Novaes, Ant\u00f4nio Cocco e Jacintho Nunes erigiram uma capela onde hoje se encontra a igreja matriz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman\">Em 1891, por lei estadual do dia 1\u00ba de abril, foi criado o Distrito de Paz de S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o de Itatinga. Em 24 de julho de 1896, pela Lei n\u00ba 415, foi elevada \u00e0 \u00a0categoria de munic\u00edpio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman\">Itatinga faz limite com os seguintes munic\u00edpios:\u00a0 Botucatu, Pardinho, Bofete, Avar\u00e9, Angatuba e Paranapanema. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/historiadofutebol.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/AA-Itatinguense-2.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman\">O clube que representa a cidade \u00e9 a ASSOCIA\u00c7\u00c3O ATL\u00c9TICA ITATINGUENSE, fundada em 19 de abril de 1944.
